The First Chord Academy: Terms & Conditions

By enrolling at The First Chord Academy, students and guardians agree to abide by the following professional policies. These rules are designed to maintain the high standard of our 1:1 personalized sessions and the Disciplined Study Lounge environment.

Enrollment, Fees & Discounts

Registration: A one-time, non-refundable Registration Fee is mandatory for all new enrollments (Music, Art, and Academics).

Monthly Subscription: Fees are charged monthly to reserve your dedicated 1:1 mentor and time slot.

Payment Window: Fees must be cleared between the 1st and 7th of every month.

Late Fees: Payments made after the 7th incur a ₹100/day late fee. If not paid by the 14th, the slot is automatically forfeited to the waitlist.

Introductory Discounts: Any promotional discount is valid for the mentioned period only. Standard rates apply from the consecitive month onwards.

Attendance & Makeup Policy

1:1 Commitment: Because we provide exclusive 1:1 instruction, missed classes by the student are considered forfeited.

The 24-Hour Rule: Compensation classes are a privilege, not a right. To be eligible for a makeup slot, the school must be informed at least 24 hours in advance.

Makeup Availability: Makeup classes are subject to slot availability. If no slot is found within the same month, the class is lost. No-shows are strictly non-compensable.

Holidays: The school observes National and Catholic holidays. These are pre-calculated into the curriculum and are not compensable.

The Academic Hub & Reading Room

Disciplined Environment: Our Study Lounge is a “Silent Zone.” Any disruptive behavior or misuse of high-speed Wi-Fi will lead to immediate suspension of the session without a refund.

Standard 1-10 Coaching: Students must bring their own school textbooks and stationery. Our tutors provide guidance, but the student is responsible for their individual school submissions.

Reading Room Passes: Monthly passes for college students are non-transferable. Misuse of power backup or seating will result in the cancellation of the pass.

The “5th Week” & Slot Retention

5th Week Policy: Fees are based on a 4-week cycle. In months with 5 weeks, the academy remains closed for the 5th week for maintenance and faculty training.

Slot Retention (Long Leave): To reserve a specific 1:1 slot during a one-month break (exams/vacation), a Slot Retention Fee of ₹1,000 must be paid. Otherwise, the student must re-enroll as a new admission.

Property, Safety & Media

Liability: Parents/Guardians are financially liable for any damage to instruments, academic furniture, or tech equipment caused by student negligence.

Health Policy: To protect our community, students with symptoms of contagious illness (fever, flu, eye infection) are strictly prohibited from entering the premises.

Media Release: Enrollment implies consent for the Academy to use photographs or videos of classes/events for branding and social media.
