Terms and Conditions: Academy Policies

At The First Chord, our policies help create a positive, organised and enjoyable learning environment for every student.

By enrolling with the academy, students and parents agree to the following policies.


Admissions & Fees

  • A one-time admission fee is payable at the time of enrolment.
  • Admission fees are non-refundable.
  • Monthly tuition fees are non-refundable.
  • Workshop and event registrations are non-refundable.
  • Fees must be paid between the 1st and 7th of every month.
  • Accepted payment methods are UPI, Cash and Bank Transfer.

Trial Classes

  • Every new student is entitled to one free trial class.
  • During the trial, students may explore multiple instruments to help choose the right programme.
  • Additional trial classes may not be available.

Attendance & Compensation Classes

  • Students are encouraged to attend every scheduled class.
  • If a student cannot attend, prior notice should be given whenever possible.
  • Compensation classes are offered only with prior approval and subject to availability.
  • Compensation classes may be carried forward into the following month if required.
  • Missed compensation classes are considered forfeited and cannot be rescheduled.
  • Compensation classes cannot be exchanged for fee adjustments or refunds.

Teacher Absence

If a teacher is unable to conduct a scheduled class, an alternative class will be arranged based on availability.


Holidays

The academy remains closed on National and Public Holidays.

These holidays are incorporated into the annual teaching schedule.


Student Conduct

Students are expected to treat teachers, fellow students and academy property with respect.

The academy reserves the right to suspend or terminate enrolment in cases involving:

  • Bullying
  • Harassment
  • Abusive behaviour
  • Repeated disruption
  • Damage to academy property
  • Any behaviour that creates an unsafe learning environment

Care of Instruments & Property

Students are expected to handle all academy instruments and equipment responsibly.

Any damage caused through negligence may require repair or replacement at the student’s expense.


Photography & Media

The academy regularly photographs and records classes, performances and workshops for educational and promotional purposes.

Permission is obtained during the admission process.

Parents or students who prefer not to appear in photographs or videos may notify the academy in writing.


Health & Safety

Students experiencing contagious illnesses, including fever, flu or eye infections, should avoid attending classes until fully recovered.

This helps protect fellow students and teachers.


Recording Lessons

Students and parents are welcome to take short photographs or videos.

Recording an entire lesson requires prior approval from the teacher.


Policy Updates

The First Chord reserves the right to update these policies when necessary.

Any significant changes will be communicated to students and parents.
