Everything You Need to Know Before Joining The First Chord
Whether you’re a complete beginner, a parent looking for the right music school or someone returning to music after years, we’ve answered some of the questions we’re most often asked.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to contact us—we’re always happy to help.
Getting Started
Do you offer a free trial class?
Yes.
We offer one free trial class for every new student.
If you’re interested in more than one instrument, you can try multiple instruments during your trial session to help decide which one suits you best.
What happens during the trial class?
You’ll meet your teacher, experience The First Chord Method™, discuss your goals and play your first few notes.
It gives you the opportunity to experience our teaching style before enrolling.
How do I enrol?
Simply contact us through WhatsApp, phone or by visiting the academy.
We’ll help you choose the right programme and schedule.
Music Lessons
Which instruments do you teach?
- Guitar
- Keyboard
- Ukulele
- Bass Guitar
We also offer Art Classes for children and adults.
Do I need any previous experience?
Not at all.
Many of our students begin with no musical experience whatsoever.
Am I too old to start learning?
Never.
Music has no age limit.
Whether you’re 7 or 70, it’s never too late to begin.
Do I need my own instrument?
For trial classes and beginners, instruments are available at the academy.
Your teacher will advise you when it’s the right time to purchase your own instrument.
Do you prepare students for Trinity or Rockschool (RSL) exams?
Yes.
We can prepare students for internationally recognised music examinations.
However, our primary goal is to help students become confident, independent musicians rather than focusing only on examinations.
How long before I can play songs?
Most students begin playing simple songs within the first few lessons.
Progress depends on regular practice and consistency.
Can I switch instruments later?
Yes.
We’ll help you choose the right learning path if your interests change.
